From 2018-2019, I drove to all 50 states to investigate the state of American democracy by asking the experts: the people on the ground. On my journey, I talked to mayors, presidential candidates, governors, and voters on both sides of the aisle for my University of Oxford thesis. The ensuing project "50 States of Mind" is a cross-country journey that follows my conversations with people in all fifty states in the United States. Over the course of the journey I gave lectures at universities, talked to elected officials, but––most importantly––voters about the state of our democracy. You can listen to the 50 States of Mind Podcast on iTunes, read the upcoming book, or follow along on Instagram or Facebook.
